1. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide you with the OurConnection experience.

We never store your full credit card or payment details. Payments are handled entirely by PayPal.

2. How we use your data

To create and manage your account.
To display your profile to other users (based on your privacy settings).
To match you with language partners and teachers.
To send transactional emails (welcome, password reset, subscription).
To improve the platform using aggregated, anonymized analytics.
To enforce our Terms of Use and keep the community safe.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

3. Data sharing

We share data only with trusted services required to operate OurConnection:

Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, analytics
PayPal — payment processing
Hostinger — website hosting

We may disclose your data if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

Keep you logged in (authentication session).
Remember your preferences.
Collect anonymous usage statistics via Firebase Analytics.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work properly.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (primarily US-based). Firebase is SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified. We use HTTPS across the entire platform. Access to Firestore data is controlled by security rules limiting each user to their own data.

Despite our security measures, no system is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password for your account.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

Access — request a copy of your personal data.
Correction — update inaccurate data from your profile settings.
Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated data.
Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
Objection — opt out of analytics tracking.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@ourconnection.club. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

OurConnection is not directed at children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, we will delete that data promptly. If you believe this has occurred, contact us at privacy@ourconnection.club.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you by email or via an in-app banner.
